Aloe vera is a well-known medicinal plant widely used in traditional and modern systems of medicine. It possesses numerous therapeutic properties including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, wound healing, antidiabetic, and anticancer activities. The plant contains bioactive compounds such as aloins, anthraquinones, vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and polysaccharides that contribute to its medicinal value. This paper reviews the botanical description, phytochemical composition, pharmacological properties, and various applications of Aloe vera in healthcare, cosmetics, and agriculture.
