Abstract

One of the most revolutionary technologies of the twenty-first century is artificial intelligence (AI), which has completely changed export competitiveness, international trade, and worldwide company operations. Supply chain management, logistics, customs administration, trade finance, market intelligence, and consumer involvement have all been transformed by the incorporation of AI into international trade. AI has greatly increased operational efficiency, decreased transaction costs, and improved trade facilitation by enabling predictive analytics, process automation, and data driven decision making. AI offers emerging economies previously unheard of chances to boost export competitiveness, integrate into global value chains, draw in foreign investment, and raise local industry productivity. But the quick uptake of AI also brings with it a number of serious problems, such as job displacement, cybersecurity risks, technological inequality, and complicated regulations. With an emphasis on its effects on international business and export competitiveness in emerging nations, this article explores the revolutionary significance of AI in international trade. The paper examines India's readiness for AI driven international trade and analyzes current applications of AI across trade ecosystems using a descriptive research approach based on secondary data from international organizations, government reports, and contemporary scholarly literature. The study comes to the conclusion that while AI has the ability to completely transform international trade, strategic investments in digital infrastructure, human capital, innovation ecosystems, and all encompassing policy frameworks are necessary to maximize its advantages. Emerging economies that embrace AI responsibly and inclusively will be better positioned to achieve sustainable economic growth and strengthen their competitiveness in the rapidly evolving global marketplace.
