Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most transformative technologies influencing modern commerce. The rapid development of machine learning, natural language processing, predictive analytics, computer vision, generative AI, and intelligent automation is fundamentally changing how businesses operate, make decisions, interact with customers, and compete in domestic and international markets. In commerce, AI enables organizations to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data, identify patterns, predict market trends, automate routine activities, personalize customer experiences, optimize supply chains, detect fraud, and support strategic decision-making.
This article examines the role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming commercial activities, with particular emphasis on business operations, managerial decision-making, customer relationship management, marketing, finance, supply chain management, human resource management, and competitive advantage. The study adopts a conceptual and descriptive research approach based on secondary sources, including academic literature, industry reports, books, and institutional publications. The article argues that AI can generate significant improvements in operational efficiency, cost optimization, innovation, responsiveness, and customer value. However, the adoption of AI also creates challenges involving data privacy, cybersecurity, algorithmic bias, workforce displacement, transparency, ethical responsibility, regulatory compliance, and implementation costs. The article proposes a responsible and strategically integrated approach to AI adoption in commerce, emphasizing human oversight, data governance, employee development, ethical standards, and continuous technological evaluation. The study concludes that AI should not merely be viewed as an automation technology but as a strategic capability that can reshape business models and create sustainable competitive advantage when effectively integrated with organizational resources and human expertise.
