Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping higher education by transforming academic libraries into intelligent learning environments that extend beyond traditional information services. AI-enabled academic libraries have the potential to play a pivotal role in promoting women's digital empowerment by enhancing digital literacy, information literacy, and equitable access to knowledge resources. Despite increased participation of women in higher education, disparities in digital skills, technology access, and confidence continue to hinder their academic and professional growth. AI-driven library services, including personalized learning support, intelligent information retrieval, virtual assistance, and digital literacy training, can address these challenges by providing inclusive and learner-centered educational experiences. This paper explores the role of AI-enabled academic libraries in strengthening women's digital competencies and fostering gender equity within higher education. It highlights the importance of integrating ethical AI practices, inclusive library services, and digital capacity-building initiatives to create supportive learning ecosystems. By positioning academic libraries as catalysts for digital inclusion, the study argues that AI can significantly contribute to reducing the digital gender divide and empowering women to participate effectively in the knowledge economy. The findings offer valuable insights for educators, librarians, policymakers, and higher education institutions seeking to leverage AI for inclusive and sustainable educational development.
